Assessment and swallowing support
If eating or drinking has become difficult, we welcome enquiries about adult swallowing assessment and therapy, including concerns following stroke, neurological conditions or cancer treatment.
Swallowing difficulties, also called dysphagia, may involve coughing around meals, a wet-sounding voice, food feeling stuck or extra effort to chew and swallow. Discuss concerns with your healthcare provider; symptoms alone do not identify the cause.
Clinical assessment
Your SLP may review your history and goals, examine mouth movements and observe eating or drinking when appropriate. Next steps may include education, individualized strategies, therapy or coordination with your care team.When more testing is needed
A clinical assessment cannot show every part of swallowing or rule out material entering the airway. Your clinician may recommend further testing, such as an X-ray swallowing study or FEES, a camera-based assessment. These are separate from a routine clinic appointment.We also offer head and neck lymphedema therapy following cancer treatment. Ask about clinician fit.

Fees, funding and coordination
We accept referrals and provide direct billing for approved ICBC and WorkSafeBC services, including rehabilitation following a motor vehicle accident or workplace injury or illness.
Tell us which organization will fund your care so we can check the applicable authorization and billing arrangements. Coverage and approval are not guaranteed.
Before booking, we confirm the proposed service, appointment length, location, fees and any separately agreed charges.
If you need a report or coordination with a rehabilitation team, case manager or vocational consultant, let us know. We clarify the scope, reporting arrangements and consent before sharing information.
